Flappers, are some of Dr. Eggman's robots, introduced alongside Egg Pawns in Sonic Heroes. They are usually weak aerial sentry drones that only get in the way, but different colors exist with weaponry such as machine guns, lasers or bombs. They resemble Egg Pawns, but can fly via airplane-like attachments. They cross over with the Mario franchise in the Mario & Sonic games.
They appear in Dream Platform as obstacles in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, and in the DS version as targets in Dream Shooting, and obstacles in several minigames. In the next game, a Bomb Flapper appears as a boss in Defeat Bomb Flapper! It drops Bob-Ombs as it was modified by a Shy Guy.
