The Chicken Bug,[1] sometimes written chicken bug, is a bug-like creature that appears in several microgames in the WarioWare series. It appears to have a beak resembling that of a bird.

History[edit]

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$![edit]

Chicken Pinch

The Chicken Bug first appears in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! in the microgame Chicken Pinch, where it runs onscreen and jumps directly underneath the tongs. During its final jump, it performs a backflip in midair before landing and running offscreen. The player must pinch the Chicken Bug with the tongs to catch it. If the Chicken Bug is caught in the middle of a backflip, it is held by its legs instead of its body.

WarioWare: Touched![edit]

In WarioWare: Touched!, the Chicken Bug appears in the third difficulty level of the microgame Cage Match, where the player must trap the Chicken Bug underneath the cage. Whenever the Chicken Bug is directly under the cage, it walks more quickly.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves[edit]

In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, three Chicken Bugs appear in the third difficulty level of the microgame Bridge Work. The player must operate the bridges with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to allow the Chicken Bugs to cross.

WarioWare Gold[edit]

The microgame Chicken Pinch

The Chicken Bug returns in WarioWare Gold, appearing in Chicken Pinch. On the microgame's third level of difficulty, it is possible for three Chicken Bugs to appear at once, with only one jumping high enough to be pinched by the tweezers. Additionally, a Chicken Bug can occasionally appear with a single hair on its head. To complete the mission Emergency Haircut, the player must tweeze off the Chicken Bug's hair.

One of the souvenirs is Phone Code 21: HAKK. Calling it on any of the phones connects the player to a scientist working in a laboratory that studies chicken bugs. They use tweezers similarly to the microgame. In the call, they theorize the hair is an adaption to trick people with tweezers. The hair is a decoy that is deliberately shed when grabbed to allow the Chicken Bug to escape.

In Wario Kard, the Chicken Bug is an enemy which often uses scissors.
