Ken (referred to as Ken the Reporter in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, Anchorman Ken in WarioWare: Twisted!, Ken the VJ in WarioWare: Touched!, and Reporter Ken in WarioWare: Smooth Moves) is a recurring supporting character from the WarioWare series, first appearing in the first game in the series, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! He is a humanoid dog, and his name is derived from「犬」(ken), meaning "dog" in Japanese. He originally served as a TV news reporter, but he has gone on to fill several other presenting roles throughout the series, with his news reporter role being succeeded by other similar dog characters: Rocky the Reporter in WarioWare: Touched!, Reporter John in Game & Wario, and Ben in WarioWare Gold.

Ken the Reporter first appears in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!. At the start of the game, he appears on a newsflash talking about how video game sales are increasing with the game Pyoro, inspiring Wario to create his own games. Ken the Reporter also appears on Wario's television in the first intermission of Wario's first story. He later appears at the end of 9-Volt's level, announcing that the Game Boy Advance SP is available for purchase. He appears again at the end of the game, broadcasting Wario's success via television.

WarioWare: Twisted![edit]

Anchorman Ken reappears in WarioWare: Twisted!, during Wario-Man's story. He reports for Diamond City Broadcasting that Wario's new game is breaking sales records.

Ken the VJ reappears in WarioWare: Touched!. During Mona's story, he acts as the host of the radio show Ear Candy. On the show, he reports the top five music artists of the week. He also reports that Mona, who received the number one spot on the top five, will be playing at the Hawt House. The role of a news-reporting dog is instead fulfilled by Rocky the Reporter in this game.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves[edit]

Reporter Ken reappears in WarioWare: Smooth Moves. He appears at the end of Mona's story, where he is reporting on a football game between the Diamond City Roughs and the Dinosaurs alongside Manager Joe. He asks if the Diamond City Roughs will turn the game's results around. He then adds commentary when the team wins the game.

WarioWare Gold[edit]

While Ken does not appear in WarioWare Gold, being replaced by Ben, Ben's Rank A character card mentions that he follows in the footsteps of the reporters Ken and John, and that the three of them sometimes have lunch together.

WarioWare: Move It![edit]

Ken appears in WarioWare: Move It! in the "Makin' Waves" stage as the announcer of the Caresaway Grand Prix. This marks the first time in the series that Ken has voice acting. It is also the first game in the series in which the credits name him simply "Ken" with no additional title describing his occupation.

Appearance[edit]

Ken is a dog with orange and peach fur. In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, he wears a green hat and suit, orange glasses, and black pants. In WarioWare: Twisted! his glasses are blue, his suit is white, he has a red tie, and he lacks the hat. In WarioWare: Touched!, he wears grey headphones and has a red and white suit. In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, his fur is redder than before and his suit is completely white. He receives a redesign in WarioWare: Move It!, returning to orange fur and a green suit with a headset but no longer wearing glasses.
