- “Instead...I have a counteroffer. Gobblick! Now that you've gorged on Spite Bulbs, show them your surging power! The three of us have a bigger fish to zap. Baaahahahahahah!”
- —Ecks, Mario & Luigi: Brothership[1]
Gobblick[2] is a boss from Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is a massive sentient pitcher plant with two vine-like tentacles for limbs extending from its body; upon becoming furious, the monster's lower body becomes tinted red. Its name is a portmanteau of "gobble" and "lick." Mario and Luigi encounter this monstrous beast in the Great Lighthouse of Lushgreen Sea, where Ecks sics it on the heroes before Shun can explain what the Extension Corps is up to. A stronger variant of it can be fought later in the game, empowered by the toxic substance Glohm.[3]
When Ecks calls Sharpcask down to battle Mario and Luigi in the Color-Full Sea's Great Lightouse, he compares the barrel-shaped monster to Gobblick, stating that Sharpcask is even stronger due to having more Spite Bulbs (a hostile variant of Sprite Bulbs resulting from lack of Connectar).
Eventually, Gobblick can be fought again; this time, it is saturated with Glohm and is named Glohm Gobblick.
At one point, Ten refers to the boss as "a Gobblick," implying that there may be other Gobblick units.
Battle
One of its primary attacks involves spewing Capnaps, Spikelies, and (rarely) coins; the arm that it uses to slap its torso determines which brother is being targeted (its right arm for Mario and left arm for Luigi). If Gobblick does a small slap, a light drum sound effect is played and the projectile tumbling towards the targeted Bro. must be jumped over; if it does a larger slap, a deeper drum sound effect plays and the projectile will simply bounce over the Bro.'s head. Another attack begins with Gobblick whirling one of its arms in the air before it targets either Mario or Luigi to wrap him in a vine, pull back, and inflict damage and Dizzy on him. During this attack, the targeted Bro. can counter the vine by using his Hammer attack. Gobblick may also dig its right or left arm into the ground, where the tip pops above the ground 2-4 times in a rhythm. The targeted Bro. must counter the vine with his hammer on the last beat, or else he will take damage and possibly Trip.
Eventually, the three large fans in the background of the arena will activate, prompting Luigi to use Luigi Logic. He will grab Gobblick's tongue and, with Mario's help, begin to swing the monster around. If the player presses B at the right time, Luigi throws it into the updrafts, which will stun the monster and leave it vulnerable to critical hits. Mario and Luigi move to the new part of the arena to continue the battle.
When its half of its HP is depleted, the monster becomes enraged, performing its attacks more quickly while also gaining two more attack types. Gobblick may now also approach a Bro. while drooling and attempt to devour him; this is countered with a hammer strike immediately after a drop of its drool hits the ground. If Gobblick successfully gobbles a Bro., it will restore some HP and eject him at the other Bro., who must jump to avoid any additional damage. Its other new attack involves swiping an extended arm left or right across the ground, which can inflict Trip; Mario and Luigi must jump over in succession to avoid damage. When swiping to the right, Gobblick will knock rocks into the background and uncover more activated fans in the ground, allowing Luigi to use Luigi Logic again and temporarily incapacitate it. When defeated, the boss drops the Gobblick Boots for the Bros. and Sprite Bulbs for Snoutlet to collect.

Trivia
- Luigi grabbing Gobblick by the tongue and swinging him around may be a reference to Super Mario 64, where Bowser is defeated in a similar way.
