Michael Tavera is an American composer and film scorer who is known best for composing various soundtracks for animated television and films, including the sequel films in The Land Before Time series, and the direct-to-video Tom and Jerry films.
He composed the background music for the animated series The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and the second and third seasons of Captain N: The Game Master,[1] replacing music composers, Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, who worked on the show's first season and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Tavera's work on former two shows consists of arrangements for many of the respective games' original soundtracks and motifs, while also incorporating more original music tracks, mainly within his work on Super Mario World. In addition, Tavera also composed all of the original featured songs that were performed in Super Mario World along with musician, Monroe Michaels,[2] and many of the original song sequences present in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3.
