The Bumble V is a kart in the Mario Kart series. Its name is a pun of the word "bumblebee", and the kart itself is based on a bee. Its design bears a slight resemblance to a Stingby, with a stinger at the front similar to the spike at the front of the Cact-X, and its taillights resemble honeycombs, fitting with the bee theme. Its engine sound is similar to the noise of a bee buzzing and almost like a Wankel engine from a Mazda RX-7 and Mazda RX-8. The emblem is located on the sides and back of the kart.

History[edit]

Mario Kart series[edit]

Mario Kart 7[edit]

The Bumble V first appears as a kart part in Mario Kart 7. It offers an acceleration and off-road boost, but its weight and handling are hindered. The Bumble V is tied with the Barrel Train and Bruiser for having the lowest handling of all kart bodies, and it is tied with the Birthday Girl and Egg 1 for having the highest acceleration of all kart bodies, and it has the highest acceleration of any kart body that does not have a negative impact on the Speed stat. It is also one of only five kart bodies to increase the off-road stat, with the other four being the Bolt Buggy, Cact-X, Pipe Frame, and Tiny Tug.

In terms of its hidden stats, the Bumble V offers one of the highest mini-turbo boosts, which it shares with the Barrel Train and Koopa Clown kart bodies.

It is one of the three vehicles in Mario Kart 7 to have a two-stroke engine that sounds like a two-rotor Wankel, the other being the Standard Kart and the Cloud 9.

CPU Honey Queen and Wario can occasionally drive this body.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

The Bumble V returns in Mario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a High-End kart. In the closed beta for the game, the kart used the Slick tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, while in the final game, it uses the Pipe Frame's tires instead. The seat is also now colored dark blue instead of orange. The Bumble V increases the duration of Dash Panel speed boosts and the number of points earned for using Dash Panels.

The game introduces two variants of the Bumble V: a black and gold one named the Queen Bee, and the other with a pink-gold and silver color scheme named the Rose Queen. Both of them are classified as High-End karts.

The Bumble V appears in the First Pipe and Second Pipe of each tour and is also a part of the Daily Selects set. Between January 29, 2020 and February 5, 2020 during the Valentine's Tour, it was also available as a special offer in the Bumble V Pack.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[edit]

The Mario Kart 7 artwork of Yoshi driving the Bumble V appears on a Level 2 Yoshi Character Card in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. The card can be used to apply eight points of damage to all enemies on the screen simultaneously.
