Bowling birds[1] are a species of bowling pin-shaped dodos[2] in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They appear only in the level Blowhole Bound, where three separate flocks can be encountered on the same island as the checkpoint booth. They are harmless, and the Kongs can roll into them like a bowling ball to take them out. The two flocks closest to the checkpoint booth reward the Kongs with a Banana Coin each when defeated, while the one further ahead nets them a bunch of 10 bananas instead. If the Kongs pound the ground around bowling birds, they tremble.
