Pit Boss is a Bowser minigame in Mario Party 6 and Mario Party Superstars. In real life, a pit boss is a person who supervises all the other employees in a casino.
Gameplay
The minigame starts with all players in a pit. Suddenly, Bowser appears and throws a spike sphere into it, which players have to avoid. If the ball crashes into one of the players, that player is eliminated and is put in a cage. Eventually, the spike sphere loses speed and stops. Bowser, infuriated, throws two more spike spheres into the pit. These new balls hit the first one and cause it to start rolling again, and gameplay continues as before. Whoever survives until all the spike spheres stop moving is a/the winner. In Mario Party 6, a tie occurs where the ball crashes into the remaining players whereas in Mario Party Superstars, it only happens when the ball simultaneously crashes into all four players.
In Mario Party Superstars, during Free Play, this minigame is treated as a 4-Player minigame; as such, it immediately ends when there is one player left standing.
