Spin Pipe is a Special Attack used in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its 3DS remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. This attack costs ten SP to use in the original game, and sixteen BP (eighteen BP on Easy) to use in the remake. It is unlocked when Mario and Luigi solve Kuzzle's first puzzle, which will turn into ten Plack Beach Attack Pieces required to use the move.
When using this attack, Mario and Luigi stand on top of each other, after which a giant blue pipe with yellow rotating arrows falls on them. The player has to remember where each brother is. After that, the pipe starts rotating, and after a while, it falls on selected enemy. The player has to press the corresponding brother button ( for Mario, for Luigi) depending on which brother is on the bottom side of the pipe when it falls on the enemy. If successful, the attack continues; otherwise it will fail. If the selected enemy is defeated, the attack will then switch to the next enemy. As the brothers land more and more hits, the pipe will begin to spin more erratically, making it harder to keep track of which brother is at which end.
In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, the pipe now has yellow studs on the top and bottom sides, and it no longer spins erratically as the attack goes on, only spinning in one direction, making it easier to land more hits on the enemy and receive an "Excellent" rating when the attack is performed successfully.
