Map

Dimble Wood is a location in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake. It is the largest area in the game and a dense forest filled with many trees, rock formations, and a lot of stone statues of Wigglers. It is north of Plack Beach and east of Bumpsy Plains. It is first seen in the beginning of the game, being the area where Bowser is fed the "Lucky(?) Mushroom" by Fawful. This is the third area Bowser traverses and also one of the areas the Mario Bros. traverse later in the game. Broque Monsieur's shop located here where Bowser can shop and give Broque the Blitties he has found. This is where Bowser will obtain his first special attack, Goomba Storm, in this area. Bowser also fights Wiggler in this area as well as his castle in this area as a giant boss. Mario and Luigi also travel in this area to obtain the 10 Attack Pieces to form the Snack Basket. They must first collect six and show them to the Wiggler for access to the Sockop area (in the southwest), where they can find the rest 4.

It consists of three sections. One of them is a forest full of trees. Bowser goes through this part when he is heading for his castle. The second part consists of a large carrot farm owned by the Wiggler Family and it is here where Bowser competes in a carrot minigame where he has to eat a giant carrot he has pulled out of the giant hole, thinking it was big enough for ammo. Bowser also has a boss battle against Wiggler here. The third part is full of thorns in the floor, and this is where Mario and Luigi look for the Attack Pieces. There is also a small tutorial area only visited by Bowser, where he learns his basic moves and eats the "Lucky Mushroom" but the Bros. can visit here to collect beans.

Prima Official Game Guide description[edit]

  • "Welcome to Dimble Wood, otherwise known as Bowser's kindling patch. Now that the Koopa King has his Fire Breath back, he can make short work of the trees that block his path in this patch of dense forest. Fiery belches are also excellent repellents for many of the Dimble denizens, such as the Treevils. These meanie trees wither under a few blasts of Bowser's hot breath. Dimble Wood is also home to Broque Monsieur's shop. The blockhead and his pup, Broggy, offer goods ranging from Gear to useful items, as long as Bowser has a few coins in his pocket to spend. Broque also cannot wait to tell Bowser about the Blitties, cute kitties that monsters around the Mushroom Kingdom have absconded with. And speaking of monsters, there's a rumor that the farm in these woods is under the supervision of a pretty sizeable pest. Hopefully, Bowser doesn't run afoul of the big bug. Wait a second, this is Bowser—of course he's going to run afoul of it. That's just what Bowser does."
  • "With Bowser locked up and out of commission, Mario and Luigi must take point on the mission to stop Fawful. The pair of heroes must slip back out of Bowser via the Pipe Yard and set out for Plack Beach to discover the perch of the last Star Sage. Getting that last Star Cure requires a detour into Dimble Wood, though, where the Bros. are separated by the local wildlife. Although the Bros. are most powerful fighting together, individually thay are still forces to be reckoned with." (visit by Mario and Luigi)
