Hothead Jed
Template:Species-infobox Hothead Jeds[1], originally known as Firehead Neds[2], are skeletal dinosaur enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are a derived fiery species of Bonehead Jeds. They ride in barrel Mine Carts and only their head and extendable neck is visible. Like Bonehead Jeds, Hothead Jeds only appear in three of the earlier Cliff levels including: Sticky Situation, Prehistoric Path, and Boulder Roller.
Hothead Jeds behave like Bonehead Jeds do, except that they ride in barrel Mine Carts filled with molten rock, giving their empty eye sockets a orange-red glow. They can also extend their neck to shoot out fireballs. If a Kong comes into contact with a Hothead Jed, they take damage. To defeat a Hothead Jed, Donkey Kong must jump on it twice, with the first hit temporarily immobilizing them. Other attack methods such as throwing a barrel also work, Hothead Jeds can resist Kong Rolls like their normal counterparts do.
