Grates are platforms found in the Wii game Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are only found in the Flipsville Galaxy in the mission Flip Flopping in Flipsiville. They are used to advance throughout the galaxy, Mario (or Luigi) must Ground-Pound them and they will flip him to the other side of the planet. These platforms control Mario's gravity in this galaxy and activating one underneath a Pupdozer is the only way to defeat one. Grates play a major role in the battle with Glamdozer. The player needs to flip underneath her with these four times to defeat her.
