Answering Machine is one of Fronk's microgames in WarioWare Gold.

Gameplay

The player's goal is to tap a phone, presented on a blank background, when it starts ringing. More phones are in later difficulty levels, but only one rings. Each phone has a different ringtone. Tapping a phone that is not ringing has the player pick it up while locking the controls, failing the microgame.

  • 1st level difficulty: Only a home phone is present. Its screen turns white and the receiver shakes while it is ringing.
  • 2nd level difficulty: There is both a home phone and a cordless phone. The screen of the cordless phone turns white and the phone shakes while it is ringing.
  • 3rd level difficulty: Three phones are present: a home phone, a cordless phone, and a mobile phone. The mobile phone shakes while ringing, but the screen does not change color.
