Template:Quote2 Chris Meledandri is an American film producer and the founder and chief executive officer of Illumination, an animation studio division of Universal Pictures, as well as the producer of every film released by the studio to date. Additionally, he serves as a senior adviser for DreamWorks Animation following Universal's acquisition of them in 2016. Prior to founding Illumination, Meledandri was president of 20th Century Fox Animation and served as executive producer for the first four films released by Blue Sky Studios including the original Ice Age, Robots, Ice Age: The Meltdown and Horton Hears a Who! before leaving 20th Century Fox to form Illumination.
Meledandri served as co-producer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie alongside Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto. In 2018, he stated that Miyamoto would be "front and center" in the creation of the film.[1] In 2021, he was appointed the role of Outside Director on Nintendo's board of directors, and is expected to assist Nintendo in their further endeavors into visual content.
