Ryota Kawade is a game designer employee by Intelligent Systems. He directed the first three installments of the Paper Mario series.

History

Kawade studied machinery for factory jobs, but he decided he wanted to do a creative job, and decided to enter the game industry. He initially wanted to be a game planner, but as Intelligent Systems was only hiring designers and programmers at the time, he decided to sign as a designer instead[1]. Kawade currently works as the producer of Fire Emblem Cipher, a trading card game in the Fire Emblem series. However, with the discontinuation of Fire Emblem Cipher[2], Kawade's future remains unknown.
