Boomboxes are objects that appear in Super Mario Odyssey. They appear in most kingdoms, they will play a music track from the game. Mario can interact with the Boomboxes by jumping on top of them or throwing Cappy at them, which will make them play a short, Bowser-related music clip before reverting back to the song they were playing. After beating the game, the Boomboxes play the Japanese version of Jump Up, Super Star! or Honeylune Ridge: Escape when hit instead. In the Metro Kingdom, a Boombox found on a rooftop pool plays a piano arrangement of the Super Mario World overworld theme. Mario also dances to the music playing from a Boombox if he stays idle near one.
