Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla

Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla is a galaxy appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The galaxy seems to be orbiting the Mushroom World. The main feature of this galaxy is the introduction of lava and other fiery hazards. The boss found here is Gobblegut.

The starting planet is a fort-like area surrounded by lava. It has a gate with Bowser Jr.'s head on it that can be opened by using a lever to the door's left. Several statues of Bowser Jr. are placed around this planet. A few enemies are encountered on this planet, such as Dry Bones, Astro Goombas, and a Thwomp. A Magikoopa is also seen protecting the Bowser Jr. gate. The Comet Medal can be found above the Thwomp. There is a shortcut to reach Gobblegut's planet faster if the player long jumps off the right tower on top of the castle.

Like the Starting Planet, this planet is surrounded by lava. It is medium-sized planet with a lot of Firebars. There are a couple of Goombas on here and a Magikoopa that spawns Round Goombas is also found on here. There is also a Tip Network on the planet.

After using the Launch Star leading from the Lava Planet, the player ends up on this spherical, brown crater planet. Bowser Jr. appears in his Robot Cockpit, before summoning Gobblegut to fight the player. The planet is made entirely of dirt and has many crater-like holes.

Gobblegut's Aching Belly
To get the Star, the player has to make their way to Gobblegut's Planet. To do so, they have to open the gate with Bowser Jr.'s face on it by flipping the lever found near it. The head will rotate and the gate will open. The Launch Star is found in the next area. After using the Launch Star, the player will end up in the Lava Planet. They have to make their way to another Launch Star while the Firebars and other enemies. When using the Star, the player will find themselves on Gobblegut's Planet. Bowser Jr. comes in his cockpit and summons Gobblegut to fight the player. After the dragon is defeated, the player will be granted with the Grand Star.

Fiery Flotilla Speed Run
The player will automatically land on Gobblegut's Planet. The mission is to defeat Gobblegut within a time limit of two minutes. If the player can't defeat Gobblegut in time, they won't earn the Star. The Daredevil Comet must be in orbit for this mission to become available.

Green Star 1
The player will redo the Gobblegut's Aching Belly mission. The Green Star is located on the Starting Planet, on the north-west tower of the castle wall. To get on to the wall, the player must back-flip on top of the Thwomp, then long-jump towards the wall, spin, wall-jump off the wall and spin on to the top of the castle. From this point the Star will be visible and the player can make their way to it by jumping on the ridges of the wall.

Green Star 2
The player will redo the Gobblegut's Aching Belly mission. The second Green Star is located on the Lava Planet. To get it, the player will need to perform a long jump from where the Launch Star is. If done correctly, the player should reach the star before they come in contact with the lava.
