Luncheon Kingdom

The Luncheon Kingdom is a location featured in the upcoming Super Mario game Super Mario Odyssey. This location, inspired by Italy[1] (or more specifically by Mount Vesuvius), is a combination of lava/volcano and food themes. It is the greater location of Mount Volbono, the volcano, and is inhabited by Volbonans.[2] The Regional Coins here take the form of polygonal fruit resembling tomatoes.[1]
Areas
- Peronza Plaza, a town-like area[1]
- Meat Plateau, a high hill that houses a giant slab of meat that is capturable.[3]
- Top of the Peak Climb, an area close to the top of Mount Volbono.[3]
Power Moon locations
Mario will need to collect 18 Power Moons to power up the Odyssey.[2]
- The Broodals Are After Some Cookin': Obtained by defeating the red-haired Broodal.[4]
- Under the Cheese Rocks: Obtained by capturing a Hammer Bro and using his frying pans to break some cheese rocks hiding a switch that opens the cage containing the Power Moon.[1]
- Love Above the Lava: Obtained by meeting with the female Goomba while controlling a Goomba Stack.[4]
- Magma Narrow Path: Obtained by capturing a Lava Bubble and overcoming a challenging pink lava level in a secret area.[5]
- A Strong Simmer: Obtained by capturing a Lava Bubble and heating the first pot in the cooking area.[2]
- An Extreme Simmer: Obtained by capturing a Lava Bubble and heating the second pot in the cooking area.[2]
- Is This an Ingredient Too?!: Obtained by breaking the crates next to the Crazy Cap store, then climbing to the top of the building.[2]
- Golden Turnip Recipe 1: Obtained by throwing a golden turnip into the cooking pot next to the Crazy Cap store.[2]
- Atop a Column in a Row: Obtained by ground pounding a high pillar in Peronza Plaza.[2]
- Excavate 'n' Search the Cheese Rocks: Obtained by collecting five Moon Shards in a secret area found right before the "Under the Cheese Rocks" Moon.[6]
- Climb the Cheese Rocks: Obtained by climbing the highest cheese rock in a secret area found right before the "Under the Cheese Rocks" Moon.[7]
- Lurking in the Pillar's Shadow: Found in the first part of the Luncheon Kingdom in a corner between two pillars.[8]
- Fork Flickin' to the Summit: Obtained by capturing Volbonans and utilizing hat spinners to reach the top of a summit in a secret area.[8]
- Luncheon Kingdom Slots[9]: Obtained by lining up five Power Moon symbols on the slot machine.[10]
- Taking Notes: Swimming in Magma: Obtained by collecting all of the Rainbow Notes above the lava near the path to the Meat Plateau.[11]
- Beneath the Rolling Vegetables: Found at the end of the 8-bit side-scrolling segment beneath an island producing large rolling bell peppers.[12]
- Luncheon Kingdom Timer Challenge 1: Found on top of a building near the beginning of the kingdom and using Cappy to allow Mario to wall jump up to the moon. [13]
- Found on top of the high wall near the Odyssey.[14]
- Found on top of a high floating island in the sky east of the red-haired Broodal battle zone.[15]
- Obtained by collecting five Moon Shards in a secret area with rising and sinking platforms.[16]
- Found behind the door in the secret area with rising and sinking platforms.[17]
- Can be purchased from the Crazy Cap store for 100 yellow Coins.
- Found on top of the high cliff face across the lava from Peronza Plaza.[18]
- Obtained by capturing a Lava Bubble and using it to light a lone torch on an island.[19]
- Obtained by ground pounding all of the cracked spots on the island with the rolling vegetables.[20]
- Obtained by using Cappy to open a secret door near the edge of the lava, then traversing across the rotating platforms.[21]
- Obtained by collecting all of the Rainbow Notes in the secret rotating platforms area.[22]
- Obtained by capturing a Fire Bro near the Odyssey and using him to light two torches on a side platform.[23]
- Obtained by capturing a scarecrow above the starting area and wall jumping up the blocks that appear.[24]
Multi Moon Locations
- Big Pot on the Volcano: Dive In!: Obtained after using Cappy to capture a slab of meat and have Cookatiel carry Mario to the top of Mount Volbono.[25]
