Template:Galaxybox Sky Station Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The level is the introductory stage of the game, taking place before Mario lands on Starship Mario. Mario is launched into the galaxy from Princess Peach's Castle. After flying through a series of clouds, Mario eventually lands on a disc-shaped planetoid. The player can see Yoshi's House nearby, but he's not there. A Luma appears and tells Mario that the Power Stars have been stolen by a monster. The galaxy introduces the player to the gravity based gameplay and spherical planets of Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Planets
Yoshi House Planet
This is the starting planet for most missions in this galaxy. It is round and flat and divided into halves. The top half is grassy and Yoshi's House resides on it. The top half also contains two warp pipes, one green and one red. They both lead to the underside, but the red one transports Mario inside a cage with a 1-Up Mushroom inside. A hole in the middle of the planet can transport him to the other side. A fence lines the planet's perimteter. A Tip Network which shows how to star spin to defeat enemies is also seen on the underside of the planet. Enemies here include Goombas and Incoming Chomps in the second mission.
Grass Planet
This is a semi-large, grassy planet, which is home to many Octoombas. It is slightly rounded and it has a ? Coin, a Checkpoint Flag and a warp pad. Yellow platforms which will rises then turn blue and disappear are seen here which will lift Mario up to the Launch Star to blast him to the next planets. A Luma will guide Mario through this planet and will transform into a Launch Star when he gets to the end.
Bonus Planet
This planet looks like other bonus planets. Several Octoombas inhabit this planet and if Mario defeat all of them using the Rainbow Star within the time limit, three 1-Up Mushrooms will appear.
Miniature Planets
These three planets are very small and serve no purpose except for some coins and a launch star. The first is a small grassy sphere. The second one is a small asteroid that has nothing but a Sling Star. This sling star will take the player around all the planets before landing on the third planet, a small, dirt-cover spher with some coins and a launch star to take the next planet.
Cylindrical Planet
This planet is shaped as a cylinder with square platforms going around it. There is a Comet Medal here, and a few Paragoombas. There is also mud that will slow down Mario, and there is a black hole inside the planet. At the end is a Launch Star that will send Mario to the Sided Planet.
Sided Planet
This planet is round and flat with two area on each side. The bottom side is a stone and muddy area with a Life Mushroom, Checkpoint Flag, and an Octoomba. While the top side is a grass area with a Item Crystal, a few Coins and three Octoombas. There a Launch Star which will take Mario to the Geo Planet.
Geo Planet
This planet is very similar to the planet on which the player fought Dino Piranha on in the predecessor of Super Mario Galaxy 2. Peewee Piranha is fought on this planet.
Sky Fleet Ship
The Sky Fleet Ship appears in the second mission and it is a cylindrical, transparent planet with an inside with platforms, similar to the Pill Planet in the first game. The ship has a conical nose with a propellor at the tip. Banzai Bill Blasters launch Banzai Bills toward Mario or Luigi as they travel across the planet's glassy outside. A Rainbow Star is on the surface of the ship. Inside, there is platforming to be done and there is a warp pad and Launch Star inside.
In the first trailer of the game this planet had a lighter coloration.
Flip Switch Planet
A planet covered with Flip Switches. A Banzai Bill comes out of its blaster here, and in a second section Cosmic Clones appear.
Second Fleet Ship
There are three more Banzai Bill Blasters in this planet, and mud that makes Mario slower if he walks on it. There is a long platform on one side, and at the end of it is a Prickly Piranha Plant that Mario has to defeat in order to get a key to open a cage with the star.

Missions
Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum
After entering the Sky Station Galaxy, A Luma will appear and tell Mario that the Power Stars have been stolen by a monster. Mario has to collect the first Power Star. To do so, he must enter the green Warp Pipe which leads to the other side of the planet. Then break the Giant Crystal and fall into the hole. Then, he has to talk to a Yellow Luma who helps him by transforming into a Launch Star. Then, another Luma will show Mario the way. After arriving into a high platform, it'll turn into a Launch Star to blast Mario to a small group of planets. Here, he has to use the small jump and use the Sling Star to get to the third planet and use the launch star to blast off to the next one. Mario will need to follow the platforms towards the right while avoiding the black holes. At the end there will be another Luma who will lead Mario to the end of a fenced area and transform into a Launch Star to blast him to the next planet. The Luma in the other side will transform into a Launch Star to lead Mario to Peewee Piranha. After defeating the boss, he'll earn a Power Star.

Storming the Sky Fleet
If Mario returns to this galaxy after he defeats Peewee Piranha, he'll find Incoming Chomps in the first planet. But he'll find also a series of green plants that he can use to defeat the chomps. To get the Power Star, Mario must get to the other side of the planet, defeat an Incoming Chomp, get the dropped key, free the Luma who transforms into a Launch Star that Mario should use to process.
Mario then finds himself on a ship planet, he has to find the Launch Star hidden in this planet and use it to get to another area full of Flipswitches. To process, the plumber has to activate all the Flipswitches. If done so, a new series of them will appear. He has to do the same thing here, but he'll be chased by Cosmic Clones. After hitting all the panels, a Launch Star will appear.
After using the Launch Star, Mario will get to the area with the Power Star. But, it is in a glass cage. To open the cage, he has to defeat the Prickly Piranha Plant, take the key, open the cage and get the Power Star.

Enemies
Peewee Piranha Speed Run
In this episode, triggered by a Prankster Comet, Mario/Luigi must travel through the same route as he did in the Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum episode. However this mission has a time-gate scenario in which he must continually collect Green Stopwatches in order to progress.
Mario/Luigi starts with a 0:20 (20 Seconds) time limit, if this counter hits zero he will die. To increase the time limit, he must collect the Stopwatches which add 10 more seconds to the clock, this will require him to follow a specific pathway to collect Stopwatches to keep Mario/Luigi, detouring from the set route could risk the missing of Stopwatches or running out of time.
The amount of Stopwatches on the course are abundant and several planets from the original Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum episode have been removed to make the course shorter to allow Mario/Luigi to progress easier.

Enemies
Green Star 1
This Green Star is located on the Yoshi House Planet, circle around Yoshi's House till spoting it. It is suspended in mid-air so Mario/Luigi will either have to backflip, double-jump or side-somersault to reach it.
Alternatively Mario/Luigi can jump into the green pipe to the bottom side of the planet, destroy the crystal and jump into the hole and exit out on top of Yoshi's House. From there Mario/Luigi can walk of the edge to retrieve the Star.
Green Star 2
To get Green Star 2, the player needs to jump, near the Grass Planet's Launch Star, in an abyss. If he/she did correctly, before Mario or Luigi reaches the Black Hole, it will pick a Power Star.
Green Star 3
The last Green Star is located on the Sky Fleet Ship over the Warp Pad near the end of the planet. The player must either do a backwards somersault off the Warp Pad and do a wall jump, or stand on the last rotating platform and jump onto the star. Template:Endspoiler
Trivia
- This Galaxy might be based of of Good Egg Galaxy from the prequel, since they both are the first galaxies in World 1 in both games, and both have a Piranha Plant based boss that the player must beat in order to move on.
