Smeeches[1] are flying enemies in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are pink spherical creatures with a pair of beady eyes and plump lips, and they are related to the Poink enemy from Super Mario Sunshine. Their name is a portmanteau of the words "smooch" and "leech." Smeeches are first encountered in the Yoshi Star Galaxy, starting with the first mission, Saddle Up with Yoshi. Trivia
- If the player goes into first-person mode while riding Yoshi with a Smeech attached, they are able to see inside the Smeech, though only its lips are visible.
- If the player collects a Power Star while riding Yoshi with a Smeech on his mouth, it appears in the "You got a Star!" scene.
