History
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Klasps first appear in the Cotton Top Cove level, Kreeping Klasps, as the main and titular enemy of the level. Despite this being their debut, Klasps more commonly appear in mountain levels like Krevice Kreepers and Criss Kross Cliffs. In Kreeping Klasps, the Klasps always follow a set path, and some of them move faster than others. In later levels, starting with Krevice Kreepers, the Klasps hang motionlessly until Dixie and Kiddy pass them. Any Klasp within the Kongs' range begins to move after them, based on the direction that they move in. The Kongs must avoid Klasps because if they make contact with one, the Klasp explodes, injuring the lead Kong. Klasps cannot be defeated safely or in any other way. In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, a Klasp is categorized under the Kremling Kreeps enemy class.
In the Game Boy Advance version, Klasps have a land variant, Krackas. While they resemble Klasps and explode like them, Krackas act the same as Knockas.
Donkey Kong Land III
In Donkey Kong Land III, Klasps behave identically as before, but they no longer chase directly after Dixie and Kiddy.
