The Retry Clock is an item found exclusively in the original Nintendo DS version of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. If both Mario and Luigi or Bowser fall in battle, the Retry Clock allows them to restart the battle with their HP and SP at the state before the battle started, although this also resets the enemy's HP.

Retry Clocks can most often be obtained by either hitting ? Blocks using the brothers or breaking Brick Blocks using Bowser. Additionally, they are given out as rewards from golden panels that Bowser can Body Slam on, or from winning certain boss battles. Retry Clocks cannot be purchased in shops by either Bowser or the brothers.

Retry Clocks are the only consumable items that appeared in the original game to not reappear in the remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, as the player can restart battles at any time when they receive a Game Over.
