Template:SMO kingdom infobox The Cloud Kingdom is the sixth kingdom visited in Super Mario Odyssey. It is a mysterious realm made up entirely of clouds, and is the greater location of Nimbus Arena. During the events of the story, while en route to the Metro Kingdom, Mario and Cappy hear a strange laugh outside their ship, which causes them to investigate. They discover that Bowser is also en route to the Metro Kingdom, and thus encounter him whilst in the sky. This kingdom is the location of the first Bowser battle of the game. Upon defeating Bowser, he retreats to his airship and instructs it to fire cannonballs at Mario. He gets hit by one of these, causing both him and the Odyssey to crash-land down in the Lost Kingdom.
The Cloud Kingdom is located southeast of the Lake Kingdom, northeast of the Wooded Kingdom, northwest of the Lost Kingdom, and west of the Metro Kingdom.

Life Above the Clouds
Perhaps everyone has had the experience of looking up in the clouds and imagining what it would be like to live among them. As it turns out, as fantastical as it may sound, there was once such a kingdom whose citizens looked down on the world from a fluffy, puffy paradise.
Strangely Floaty Material
While the particles that make up a cloud are extremely small and light, researchers have recently discovered a kind of cloud-like material that one can walk on. First discovered in Fossil Falls, this substance can change into and hold new shapes and even support weight.
The discovery prompted certain researchers to open an investigation into whether there might have once been a "cloud kingdom" in the sky.
Vestiges of Greatness
Once researchers started looking for places in the sky, they quickly found a large platform of the levitating substance, dubbed Nimbus Arena.
Mysteriously, the land had markings that accurately showed the waxing and waning phases of the moon. Now, besides the obvious "how," researchers had to question "why?"
Giant Cloud Arches
Researchers are thus baffled by the large cloud archway here. Some theorize that it's a kind of reticle that aligns with the moon. Some evidence suggests that the arch pulled this kingdom's Moon Rock to a specific location from the moon.
The only certainty is that the Cloud Kingdom will continue to interest researchers for many years.
Shower of Flowers
The investigation is concluded now and yielded few undisputed facts. But the bits of cloud that fall like flower petals here make it the most dreamlike place you'll ever visit.
Symbols of Peace
Perhaps signifying how peaceful this place is, many doves can be found living here. Supposedly, spotting a flock of doves will grant you increased happiness.
Three Keys to the Kingdom
- Navigate the vast sea of clouds that seem to go on forever.
- Feel the unyielding cloud-floor that won't budge no matter how you stomp.
- Explore the remnants of the civilization that once existed here.

Power Moons
- Main article: List of Power Moons in the Cloud Kingdom
There are a total of nine Power Moons in the Cloud Kingdom, the second-least amount of Power Moons for a kingdom, having six more than the Darker Side (when counting the Multi Moon as three). During Mario's first visit to this kingdom, none of the Power Moons can be collected (due to the boss fight with Bowser). After repairing the Odyssey in the Lost Kingdom, Mario can return here to collect one Power Moon. After he defeats Bowser in the Moon Kingdom, one more Power Moon becomes available to collect. The Moon Rock will also be available to destroy, causing seven additional Power Moons to be accessible.

Trivia
- The "nimbus" in the Cloud Kingdom's playable location, "Nimbus Arena," means either a word for "cloud" or "rainstorm" in Latin.
- According to Pauline's quiz, Pauline desires to see the Cloud Kingdom next due to wanting to see clouds that go on forever.
- The Art of Super Mario Odyssey revealed that the Cloud Kingdom was originally going to be much larger and not just restricted to being a boss arena against Bowser the first time he is fought.
