Re-Koils are orange Kremlings with a springy tail. They are weak members of the Kremling Krew and common enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. They are the successors to jumping Kritters from Donkey Kong Country and Kaboings from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.
Re-Koils always stick their tongue out and have their eyes point in opposite directions. Re-Koils have four fingers and three toes, and they are one of the few Kremlings with claws on their hands. They have a yellow belly, and the front of their tail is also yellow.
History
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Re-Koils continuously bounce on their tail, either in one spot or back and forth. Some Re-Koils bounce on their tail without getting off the ground. If a Re-Koil lands on Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong, that Kong gets injured. The Kongs can defeat a Re-Koil by either rolling into it just before it lands, jumping onto it, or hitting the Re-Koil with a barrel. Due to their high-bouncing ability, the Kongs can sometimes use Re-Koils to reach higher areas or out-of-reach items.
In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, a photograph of a Re-Koil appears under the "Kremling Kreeps" category.
Re-Koils appear in eight levels, most of which take place in a mountain or inside a mill:
- Murky Mill
- Riverside Race
- Squeals on Wheels
- Kreeping Klasps
- Tracker Barrel Trek
- Krack Shot Kroc
- Koindozer Klamber
- Criss Kross Cliffs
In the Game Boy Advance version, Re-Koils appear in three more levels, and each of them appear in the exclusive world Pacifica: Dingy Drain-Pipe, Stormy Seas, and Cliffside Blast.
Donkey Kong Land III
In Donkey Kong Land III, Re-Koils, or Rekoils as their name is spelled, act the same as in the previous game. They first appear in the level Total Rekoil, which, as its name suggests, have Rekoils as the main feature and enemy. In the Japanese Game Boy Color port, Rekoils have a yellow sprite.
Rekoils appear in 16 levels, double the number of their level appearances in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!:
- Total Rekoil
- Liftshaft Lottery
- Miller Instinct
- Jungle Jeopardy
- Footloose Falls
- Karbine Kaos
- Rockface Chase
- Tropical Tightropes
- Clifftop Critters
- Rickety Rapids
- Bazuka Bombard
- Stalagmite Frights
- Kuchuka Karnage
- Haunted Hollows
- Barrel Boulevard
- Ghoulish Grotto

Trivia
- Re-Koils may have been inspired by Tigger from the Winnie-the-Pooh franchise, as both are orange and use their tail for a spring.
- An unused model of a Re-Koil exists within the kiosk demo of Donkey Kong 64; it is unknown if Re-Koil was planned to be an enemy or the file exists as a placeholder.
- Re-Koils share the same defeat voice clip as Krook, Klinger, and Kloak; this only applies to the SNES version of the game, however.
