“Woo-hoo! I'm the winner! Woo-hoo!”
Toadette, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Toadette is Toad's female counterpart. Unlike most Toads, she has a pink cap with white spots, instead of a white cap with colored spots. She also has a red vest-like item on her pink dress with a slightly paler yellow lining than on Toad's vest. Little else is known about her, as she was mainly created to provide Toad with a partner in spinoff games (similarly to the fact that Waluigi was created only to be a partner with Wario in spinoffs). As portrayed in Mario Superstar Baseball In Mario Party 8 Toadette sounds rather juvenile; her voice is more high-pitched and her laugh sounds childish.

Biography

Double Dash Racing

Toad and Toadette.

Toadette first appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as Toad's racing partner. Both Toad and Toadette need to be unlocked before they become playable characters by winning the Special Cup at 100cc. Additionally, her personal racer, the Toadette Kart, can only be unlocked after Toadette herself is unlocked. Both are light, and their special item is the Golden Mushroom.

Paper Tutorials

Toadette, as she appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Toadette appears whenever Mario discovers a Hammer or a new pair of boots. She hosts a tutorial session with Mario, explaining how to use the newfound ability.

The game reveals a bit about Toadette's personality. She states that she likes animals, and that she was saddened when Punio stopped visiting the Rogueport Sewers. The game also indicates that Toadette is a very emotional character. For instance, if the player changes the time on their GameCube's clock, Lucky, the Bulky Bob-omb who runs the Rogueport lottery, will mention that the lottery numbers were messed up because someone changed the clock, and that when he told Toadette this, she "cried her little eyes out". The latter fact is supported when, during the last tutorial session with Mario, Toadette runs off crying, knowing she will not see the plumber hero for the rest of the adventure.

It is also significant to note that during these tutorials, Toadette blushes whenever Mario performs a new move correctly, indicating that Toadette might have a slight crush on the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Mario Party series

Toadette has also become a recurring character in the Mario Party series. In Mario Party 6, Toadette can be unlocked by paying the Star Bank thirty Stars. In the sequels, Mario Party 7 and Mario Party 8, she does not need to be unlocked. In Mario Party 7, Toad and Toadette share the same special orb, the Triple 'Shroom Orb, which allows the player to roll two dice blocks for three turns. When Toadette is put on the same team as Wario in Mario Party 6, the team name is "Secret Friends", implying that Wario and Toadette are actually good friends (despite the fact that Wario is on negative terms with Toadette's counterpart, Toad). Additionally, when teamed up with other villain characters, the resulting team name is, usually positive towards them. For example, Waluigi and Toadette's team name is "Diabolical Duo", Boo and Toadette's is "Terrifying Twosome", and with Koopa Kid, they are "Potent Pals". When teamed with Princess Daisy, their team name is 'Shopping Buddies'. This gives some indication that Daisy is indeed a good friend with Toadette. She is also given positive names when with Yoshi, Princess Peach, and Mario. Though not playable, Toadette makes a minor appearance in Mario Party DS with her own board, Toadette's Music Room.

Out to Play Baseball

Mario Superstar Baseball is Toadette's first sports appearance. Toadette is a speed character who starts out on Peach's team in story mode. She ties with Yoshi as the fastest character in the game. Toadette also happens to be the only sub-character with two special abilities, "Sliding Catch" and "Wall Jump". Aside from her only captains and sub-captains have two special abilities. Like it says in her bio, Toadette's fast feet makes a bunch of plays look extremely easy whether she's on the field or on the bases.

Toadette must be unlocked to be playable, by playing Story Mode with Peach as Team Captain.

Dancing the Night Away...

During the events of Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Toadette opens a hotel by the sea in World 2-1. However, because of the chaos caused by the removal of the Music Keys from Truffle Towers, her hotel becomes twisted like a corkscrew, but Mario arrives and uses the power of dancing to return her hotel to its original shape.

Shooting Stars

In the opening of Super Mario Galaxy, where it tells about the comet passing over the Mushroom Kingdom once every hundred years. Toadette appears breifly back on, along with Toad.

Returns In Kart
