World 3: The Far Reaches of the Universe is a world traveled to in Super Mario Galaxy 2. World 3 is an area that contains a green nebula and many green comets and stars. Like the other worlds, there are seven galaxies in World 3, including a boss galaxy, Bowser Jr.'s Fearsome Fleet. Here, Bowser Jr. launches a second attack on Mario, this time with his giant robot Megahammer.

This is a winter-themed galaxy, and most of the area is covered in snow or ice. Some planets are covered in lava, on which snowballs can be rolled to create pathways on the lava. Many snow statues of Bowser and Goombas can be found here, which can be destroyed with the use of the Snowballs or Fireballs from Fire Mario.
