This is the starting planet for most missions in this galaxy. It is round and flat and divided into halves. The top half is grassy and Yoshi's House resides on it. The top half also contains two warp pipes, one green and one red. They both lead to the underside, but the red one transports Mario inside a cage with a 1-Up Mushroom inside. A hole in the middle of the planet can transport him to the other side. A fence lines the planet's perimeter. A Tip Network which shows how to star spin to defeat enemies is also seen on the underside of the planet. Enemies here include Goombas and Incoming Chomps in the second mission.
This is the starting planet for most missions in this galaxy. It is a round, small planet divided into two sides by a big white fence; a light side and a dark side (like the Starting Planet from the Good Egg Galaxy in the first game). On the light side there are several bushes with Star Bits and Coins and several mini goombas as enemies along with a big house that belongs to Yoshi. A note on the door asks Mario to come around back. Also on the top side of the planet are two Warp Pipes, one green and one orange. The orange one will lead Mario into a cage with a 1-Up Mushroom while the green one will lead him to the darker side of the planet.

The darker side is mainly a ring of dirt with numerous crystals and Goombas all around. In the middle of the ring is a giant mound of dirt with a crystal on top which, when broken, reveals a hole leading back to the top of Yoshi's House. In the second mission of the galaxy there are also Chomp Pups rolling in circles around the darker side of the planet.

After entering the Sky Station Galaxy, A Luma will appear and tell Mario that the Power Stars have been stolen by a monster. Mario has to collect the first Power Star. To do so, he must enter the green Warp Pipe which leads to the other side of the planet. Then break the Giant Crystal and fall into the hole. Then, he has to talk to a Yellow Luma who helps him by transforming into a Launch Star. Then, another Luma will show Mario the way. After arriving into a high platform, it'll turn into a Launch Star to blast Mario to a small group of planets. Here, he has to use the small jump and use the Sling Star to get to the third planet and use the launch star to blast off to the next one. Mario will need to follow the platforms towards the right while avoiding the black holes. At the end there will be another Luma who will lead Mario to the end of a fenced area and transform into a Launch Star to blast him to the next planet. The Luma in the other side will transform into a Launch Star to lead Mario to Peewee Piranha. After defeating the boss, he'll earn a Power Star.
Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum is the first level of the Sky Station Galaxy and, essentially, the first level in the game. It must be completed before reaching the Starship Mario. Mario begins the level flying through several clouds and lands on the Starting Planet. A Luma tells him that a monster stole their Power Stars and asks him to please get them back. He commits all Lumas to Mario's cause. Mario must travel around the starting planet to the green pipe which leads to the other, darker, side of the planet. On the darker side Mario must travel up the mound in the middle, break open the crystal and jump through to find that Yoshi is not actually there along with a Luma which turns into a Launh Star for him leading to the Grass Planet. On the Grass Planet a Luma leads Mario through a path of Electrogoombas and rising platforms until he reaches the end and then it turns into a Launch Star to the Miniature Planets. The Miniature Planets are a few planets with a ? Coin and a few Sling Stars which eventually lead Mario to a Launch Star sending him off to the Cylindrical Planet.

On the Cylindrical Planet Mario must travel along the only path, riding the stone platforms around the planet whenever it needs to happen and just make his way to the other side of the planet where a Luma will transform into a Launch Star to the Sided Planet. On the sided Planet, Mario must go up the stone steps and get the Midway Point along with the Life Mushroom and then travel around to the other side and climb up the green steps to a Launch Star leading to the boss battle on the Geo Planet with Peewee Piranha. Upon landing on the Geo Planet, Mario cracks open Peewee Piranha's egg and releases the beast-piranha plant. Mario must Spin the shell on its behind twice and then attack its exposed bottom to damage it. After hitting its weak spot two times, Peewee Piranha will explode into purple smoke and release a Power Star for Mario to get.

If Mario returns to this galaxy after he defeats Peewee Piranha, he'll find Incoming Chomps in the first planet. But he'll find also a series of green plants that he can use to defeat the chomps. To get the Power Star, Mario must get to the other side of the planet, defeat an Incoming Chomp, get the dropped key, free the Luma who transforms into a Launch Star that Mario should use to process.
The second level in the Sky Station Galaxy is Storming the Sky Fleet. Mario once again begins on the Starting Planet but this time around it is infested with Chomp Pups. Travelling to the darker side of the planet via the green warp pipe, Mario must use the green plants strewn around to open up the chests and find a Rainbow Star. Rainbow Mario must then run around and destroy all of the Chomp Pups on this side of the planet to get a key to free a captured Luma. The Luma will reward him by transforming into a Launch Star to the Sky Fleet Ship. The Sky Fleet Ship has multiple Banzai Bills for Mario to avoid before he can get to a hole which leads inside the ship. On the inside there are numerous Amps and moving platforms. Mario must travel to the other side of the moving platforms and take the Launch Star to the Flipswitch Planet. After Mario has pressed all the switches on the Flipswitch Planet, another section appears where Mario has to press the flipswitches but there is a slight problem; he is being chased by Cosmic Clones. After pressing all the switches the clones will disappear and a Launch Star will appear to the Second Fleet Ship. The Second Fleet Ship has numerous Banzai Bills blasting all around and a Power Star in a cage. Mario must travel to the end of the walkway, avoiding the Banzai Bills, and reach the end with a pole, two Piranha Plants and one Prickly Piranha Plant. Defeating the Prickly Piranha will yield a key which frees the Power Star and allows Mario to go back, still avoiding the Banzai Bills, and get his star.

In this episode, triggered by a Prankster Comet, Mario/Luigi must travel through the same route as he did in the Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum episode. However this mission has a time-gate scenario in which he must continually collect Green Stopwatches in order to progress.
Peewee Piranha's Speed Run is a Prankster Comet mission in the Sky Station Galaxy. It plays out almost same way as Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum except there are numerous green stopwatches throughout the level which add ten seconds to Mario's time. Mario begins with 20 seconds on the clock and must continue collecting these stopwatches to keep his time above zero. If the timer reaches zero, he will lose a life. In total, there are 120 seconds or two minutes on the clock with all the stopwatches added together.

Mario/Luigi starts with a 0:20 (20 Seconds) time limit, if this counter hits zero he will die. To increase the time limit, he must collect the Stopwatches which add 10 more seconds to the clock, this will require him to follow a specific pathway to collect Stopwatches to keep Mario/Luigi, detouring from the set route could risk the missing of Stopwatches or running out of time.

The amount of Stopwatches on the course are abundant and several planets from the original Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum episode have been removed to make the course shorter to allow Mario/Luigi to progress easier.

Another difference between this and the first level is that the Grass Planet, Miniature Planets and Side Planets have all been left out to conserve time.

Template:Galaxybox Sky Station Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The level is the introductory stage of the game, taking place before Mario lands on Starship Mario. Mario is launched into the galaxy from Princess Peach's Castle. After flying through a series of clouds, Mario eventually lands on a disc-shaped planetoid. The galaxy introduces the player to the gravity based gameplay and spherical planets of Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Planets

Yoshi House Planet

File:Adventure 8 img.jpg
Luigi asking if he can collect Power Stars.

Grass Planet

SkyStation1.png

This is a semi-large, grassy planet, which is home to many Octoombas. It is slightly rounded and it has a ? Coin, a Checkpoint Flag and a warp pad. Yellow platforms which will rises then turn blue and disappear are seen here which will lift Mario up to the Launch Star to blast him to the next planets. A Luma will guide Mario through this planet and will transform into a Launch Star when he gets to the end.

Bonus Planet

This planet looks like other bonus planets. Several Octoombas inhabit this planet and if Mario defeat all of them using the Rainbow Star within the time limit, three 1-Up Mushrooms will appear.

Miniature Planets

SkyStation2.png

These three planets are very small and serve no purpose except for some coins and a launch star. The first is a small grassy sphere. The second one is a small asteroid that has nothing but a Sling Star. This sling star will take the player around all the planets before landing on the third planet, a small, dirt-cover sphere with some coins and a launch star to take the next planet.

Cylindrical Planet

This planet is shaped as a cylinder with square platforms going around it. There is a Comet Medal here, and a few Paragoombas. There is also mud that will slow down Mario, and there is a black hole inside the planet. At the end is a Launch Star that will send Mario to the Sided Planet.

Sided Planet

This planet is round and flat with two area on each side. The bottom side is a stone and muddy area with a Life Mushroom, Checkpoint Flag, and an Octoomba. Behind the platforms, there is a 1-Up Mushroom. While the top side is a grass area with a Item Crystal, a few Coins and three Octoombas. There a Launch Star which will take Mario to the Geo Planet.

Geo Planet

This planet is very similar to the planet on which the player fought Dino Piranha on in the predecessor of Super Mario Galaxy 2. Peewee Piranha is fought on this planet.

Sky Fleet Ship

File:Rainbow-mario.jpg
The Sky Fleet ship.

The Sky Fleet Ship appears in the second mission and it is a cylindrical, transparent planet with an inside with platforms, similar to the Pill Planet in the first game. The ship has a conical nose with a propellor at the tip. Banzai Bill Blasters launch Banzai Bills toward Mario or Luigi as they travel across the planet's glassy outside. A Rainbow Star is on the surface of the ship. Inside, there is platforming to be done and there is a warp pad and Launch Star inside.

In the first trailer of the game this planet had a lighter coloration.

Flip Switch Planet

A planet covered with Flip Switches. A Banzai Bill comes out of its blaster here, and in a second section Cosmic Clones appear.

Second Fleet Ship

SkyStation4.png

There are three more Banzai Bill Blasters in this planet, and mud that makes Mario slower if he walks on it. There is a long platform on one side, and at the end of it is a Prickly Piranha Plant that Mario has to defeat in order to get a key to open a cage with the star.

Enemies

Comet Medal

The Comet Medal for this galaxy is found on the Cylindrical Planet. Once Mario reaches the second moving stone platform, he should ride it around the planet until he reaches the Comet Medal and then jump for it.

Green Star 1

SkyStationGS1.png

This Green Star is located on the Yoshi House Planet, circle around Yoshi's House till spoting it. It is suspended in mid-air so Mario/Luigi will either have to backflip, double-jump or side-somersault to reach it.

Alternatively Mario/Luigi can jump into the green pipe to the bottom side of the planet, destroy the crystal and jump into the hole and exit out on top of Yoshi's House. From there Mario/Luigi can walk of the edge to retrieve the Star.

Green Star 2

SkyStationGS2.png

The second Green Star is located near the Grass Planet, in the abyss beyond the Launch Star. In order to reach it, the player has to have Mario simply jump off the platform with the launch star near it. The star is near the corner of the platform, so it is best to jump off around there. If they jumped correctly, they will land onto the Star before falling into the Black hole. If the player misses it by an inch, they can simply spin for it to obtain it.
