Mario grabbing a Glow Block.
A Glow Block (Light Block in European versions) is an item found in the game New Super Mario Bros. Wii. As the name suggests, these white blocks emit light that Mario and company can use to illuminate dark areas by picking one in the ground. To do so, the player must shake the Wii Remote and pressing the 1 button and then hold the object, keeping pressed the 1 button. Glow Blocks are only present in dark and murky areas such as caves or Boos' haunted houses.
