Letters are objects that appear in Super Mario Odyssey. They are made up of a red M, a green A, a yellow R, a blue I, and a pink O that use the modern Super Mario font. They have black question mark pins on them, meaning they can be captured. They appear post-game in a park in the Metro Kingdom, where Mario must capture each of the Letters and move them into slots to spell "MARIO." Once Mario is in a slot and is facing south, he is forced out as the Letter locks into position. This may not be the correct slot for the Letter, so Mario can capture the Letter again and reposition it. Once the task is complete, the pins disappear and a Power Moon titled "Mario Signs His Name" appears. The player can press and hold and to dash and shake to dash faster while in this form. Letters are unable to jump, and invisible boundaries prevent them from leaving the northernmost section of the park. The boundary inside the park is marked by the path cutting through the grass.

There is a glitch in the game that allows the player to take Letters outside the park.
