Species | Goomba |
First appearance | Paper Mario (2000) |
Goomama is the wife of Goompapa and mother of Goombario and Goombaria. She wears a headwrap, indicating that she is a housewife. She appears in Paper Mario. Her name is a portmanteau of "Goomba" and "mama."
In Toad Town, after Mario goes to Lavalava Island for the first time, Goomama and Goombaria can be seen shopping. If Mario converses with them while Goombario is the active Partner, Goomama will nag the young Goomba and Goombaria will tease him.
Goomama appears with her family in Toad Town once again, as the group travels to attend the party organized by Princess Peach to celebrate her rescuers.
Tattle
- "She's my mom, Goomama. She sometimes gets on my nerves when she worries too much about me, but I still love her lots. Don't tell her what I just said! Seriously, Mario! Promise me!"

Trivia
- According to Goombario, she admires Tayce T., saying she always wants to learn how to cook from her. This may be somewhat ironic, as it is implied that Gooma was the one who taught Tayce T. how to cook. In his tattle of Tayce T., Goombario mentions that his mother is a great cook, but even she herself admits she could learn a thing or two from Tayce T.
