The "Shot in the Darkmess" battle
“Our weapons have been reactivated! Time to take cover, take aim and fire at those baddies! Just beware that this dimension works quite differently than our own, you cannot move AFTER you shoot!”
Beep-0, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Shot in the Darkmess is a battle in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the third of four tutorial battles in the game's prologue, taking place on a rocky platform after Mario and Rabbid Peach are ejected from the Darkmess Manta. Unlike the previous battle, the Heroes can now use their weapons. This battle introduces enemies hiding behind Partial Cover. Clearing this battle triggers a cutscene and leads to the final tutorial battle, Headlong into the Unknown. This battle does not reward XP or Star Bits.
