Banekiti (generically referred to by Prima as "springs"[1]) are extremely rare, indestructible obstacles appearing in Super Mario Galaxy. They resemble yellowish-brown ovals with a pair of beady eyes and four sprouting springs. Banekiti move from side to side in order to bounce and delay Boo Mario, thus hindering the passage and giving the Spooky Speedster better chances at winning the race. Only four Banekiti appear in the entire game, exclusively seen in Boo's Boneyard Galaxy.
