Cap Clouds[1] are objects that appear in Super Mario Odyssey. They are floating white top hats with question marks on them resembling the ones found on ? Blocks, and they usually float above gaps. They are found in the Cascade Kingdom, the Cloud Kingdom, and the Luncheon Kingdom. When Cappy is thrown at one, a cloud platform that will disappear after a few seconds will appear for the player, similar to the ones Cloud Mario produces in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Performing a Ground Pound on a Cap Cloud after activating it makes it last slightly longer. The travel brochure of the Cloud Kingdom discusses Cap Clouds, referring to them as "super-light stuff" and "strangely floaty material" and stating they were first discovered recently by researchers at Fossil Falls; it also states that the discovery of Cap Clouds led to the discovery of the Cloud Kingdom by promoting certain researchers to begin investigations regarding its existence.
