Mawful Mole, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey

Mawful Moles are Monty Mole enemies with Fawful-like attributes that are found in Blubble Lake in the game Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Bowser can defeat these in the overworld by simply touching them and earning some Coins in the process, while Mario and Luigi can engage them in battle. They also have a stronger metal version encountered later on in the game.

They attack by throwing boulders at the Mario Bros., which is countered by a jump. If they get dirt on their faces, they will miss and throw it really high, which will hurt the brothers if they jump. The moles may also "wink", showing the brother they are going to attack. This attack can be countered with the hammer, which can be done several times until the mole jumps over the selected brother to fall on him. Alternately, their next attack has them go underground and pop back up in front of Mario or Luigi. The Bros. must hammer the moles as they come up; if they are too slow, the moles will jump on their head and cause damage.

They also appear in the giant battle against the Tower of Yikk, in which a group of them will sometimes repair the tower to restore its HP.

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, Mawful Moles have the coloration of regular Monty Moles. Additionally, they now take critical damage from hammer attacks.
