Kenta Nagata (Nicknamed "gon" in 1080° Snowboarding) is a Japanese composer that works for Nintendo. He is proficient with the piano and bass but also plays guitar.

Nagata joined Nintendo in 1996[1]. In the Mario franchise, he is most notable for his works in Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart 7, as well as serving as Sound Director for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Mario Kart 8. It is speculated he married fellow Nintendo composer Shinobu Tanaka over the course of his employment[citation needed].
