Kenta Nagata (Nicknamed "gon" in 1080° Snowboarding) is a Japanese composer that works for Nintendo. He is proficient with the piano and bass but also plays guitar.

Nagata joined Nintendo in 1996 and his latest composition is for Wii Music[1]. In the Mario series, he is most notable for his works in Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart 7, as well as serving as Sound Director for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Mario Kart 8. He married fellow Nintendo composer Shinobu Tanaka over the course of his employmentTemplate:Refneeded.

Other works include some tracks for Pokémon Stadium, Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and the entirety of Big Brain Academy.
