Trivia
- Fire Gobblegut is similar to Fiery Dino Piranha, in the sense that both are fiery variations of bosses encountered earlier in their respective games, and they are also much more difficult in general. They both also start spitting fireballs after being hit many times.
- Other than Bugaboom, Fire Gobblegut is the only boss in Super Mario Galaxy 2 accessible in a secret mission.
