Bessie Bass is a giant Boss Bass, and the mid-boss of World 3 in Yoshi's Island DS, further enlarged by Kamek. She is fought on her Battleship.

Bessie Bass
Bessie Bass's arena

In battle, the water rises, and Bessie Bass attempts to attack Yellow Yoshi by swimming through platforms, making small leaps through the water, or by a high leap out of the water, attempting to eat Yellow Yoshi. If Yellow Yoshi is eaten, Bessie Bass chews and spits Yellow Yoshi out. While she is leaping out of the water and falling straight down, Yellow Yoshi needs to aim at her mouth to hit her; three hits defeat her. After the first hit, she leaps twice before performing a big leap.

In her battle against Yellow Yoshi, Bessie Bass is assisted by several falling Toober Guys, who Yoshi can swallow for eggs to fight her, though additional Yoshi Eggs fall as well.
