Tiki Tanks are members of the Tiki Tak Tribe and enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. First appearing in the Ruins world, they are bongo-shaped creatures reinforced with pieces of stone armor, which protect them from jump and roll attacks. The Kongs lose a heart if they simply walk into a Tiki Tank, but will safely be pushed back a bit if they try rolling into it. Jumping on a Tiki Tank can give the Kongs some additional height, helping them reach high platforms or collectibles.
Despite their resilience to direct-contact attacks, Tiki Tanks can still be defeated a number of ways. Like with Pinchlys, the Kongs can ground pound next to a Tiki Tank to flip it over into the ground temporarily, revealing a weak underside, which the Kongs can jump on to destroy the enemy. On occasion, Tiki Tanks can be instantly defeated if the Kongs throw a barrel at it, blast into it from a Barrel Cannon, or with help from Rambi.
On the second question of a Play Nintendo quiz related to Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, a picture of a Tiki Tank is erroneously used to represent Tiki Tong.[1]
