“Not half bad... I've never faced a foe who's above average. But! Sharpcask will put a quick stop to your lucky run! Remember Gobblick? Well, Sharpcask is full of FAR more Spite Bulbs! He's on an entirely different level of terrifying strength. Enjoy...”
Ecks, Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Sharpcask is a high-ranking member of the Zok Troops who appears in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. He is a robotic, anthropomorphic barrel who is quite stronger than Gobblick, as stated by Ecks due to the fact that he has gobbled up more Spite Bulbs than Gobblick. His name is compounded from "sharp" and "cask."

In battle, Sharpcask starts off by rolling into Mario and Luigi, an attack that the Mario Bros. must dodge. The Bros. can counterattack him during his attack by jumping on him. Additionally, Sharpcask can also throw barrels at the Mario Bros., and the brothers must dodge them. Another attack involves Sharpcask running towards a Bro while carrying a metal crate on top, and will lean forward and backward while attempting to crush the target with the crate. He must be countered with the Hammer while leaning backwards to safely damage him, as doing so while he is leaning forwards will damage him and cause the crate he is holding to drop on the Bro.

When Sharpcask's HP gets cut in a quarter, he will restore a little HP and guard himself, causing attacks to deal no damage. This later requires Luigi Logic to pile up some metal boxes on Sharpcask by moving a treadmill (using Left Stick) to deal a lot of damage. Following that, Luigi will move the treadmill to cause Sharpcask to fall. This stuns him for a short time and makes him prone to critical hits. On the first time this Luigi Logic action is successfully performed, Sharpcask will roll down several sloped treadmills and take chains of damage. Any later executions of Luigi Logic in this battle will also have Luigi try to avoid bombs when stacking up the crates, otherwise the stack is destroyed and the action fails.

After a quarter of Sharpcask's HP is left, Ecks will appear and raises his power and defense by one stage. Following that, he will charge at either Bro., who must dodge the attack or counterattack him. Once Sharpcask's HP is almost gone, he will become enraged. Defeating him rewards the Sharpcask Hammer and some Sprite Bulbs.

Sharpcask can later be fought in a stronger, Glohmy form known as Glohm Sharpcask.
