The Worn-Out Jump is an attack in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Paper Mario: Color Splash. It is the weakest of all Jump-based attacks and cannot be found in shops, but instead early areas of the games. Its Hammer counterpart is the Worn-Out Hammer.

History[edit]

Paper Mario: Sticker Star[edit]

“Stomps foes with a weak jump.”
In-game description

In Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Worn-Out Jump stickers can be found on the back of a house in Decalburg and in all levels of World 1 except for the Goomba Fortress. It appears as a boot with a bandage over it on a pale brown background and has a one-star attack power rating. It sells for 1 coin.

As a sticker, it takes up 1 square in Mario's Album. When it is used in a battle, Mario jumps on an enemy. With good timing of A Button presses, Mario can jump on the enemy 4 additional times. As with other Jump-based attacks, Mario takes 5 points of damage if he attempts to jump on enemies with spikes.

The Worn-Out Jump can be placed into the Sticker Museum as #1, alongside other Jump-based stickers.

Paper Mario: Color Splash[edit]

In Paper Mario: Color Splash, the Worn-Out Jump serves the same function as before, though as a Battle Card. They can be found on Ruddy Road, Sacred Forest, from the Informant Snifit, and from the Battle Spin. As the player progresses through the game, the Worn-Out Jump becomes more uncommon. It appears as a boot with a loose sole and stitched toe cap. It sells for 1 coin.

When it is used in a battle, Mario jumps on an enemy. With good timing of A Button presses, Mario can jump on the enemy 4 additional times. As with other Jump-based attacks, Mario takes 6 points of damage if he attempts to jump on enemies with spikes.

In the Prisma Museum, the Worn-Out Jump is the first entry of the Basic Card Gallery. The Worn-Out Jump x3 and Worn-Out Jump x5 allow Mario to use multiple Worn-Out Jumps in a row with a single card.
