A Fire Extingisher Card in Paper Mario: Color Splash.
Description
"Exhales a torrent of CO2 that can quell any flame."
First appearance Paper Mario: Color Splash (2016)

The Fire Extinguisher is a Thing in Paper Mario: Color Splash. It is found in Ruddy Road on a cliff near the end of the level. Mario is unable to reach it until he gathers Rescue Purple's 3 other members and uses them as steps. The Fire Extinguisher is stuck in the ground, so the player must hold A Button to collect it. Once it has been picked up, it is wrung out, refills Mario's paint, and becomes a colorless card. After it is used, it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from the Wringer for 300 coins and sold as an unpainted card for 1 coin. A replica version of the Fire Extinguisher can be collected from the Battle Spin.

When it is used in battle, Mario and the enemies are lowered on top of a building within a city that is on fire. The Fire Extinguisher flies in and aims its nozzle at the enemies. The safety pin gets pulled and it releases its contents onto the battleground. The fire and clouds of smoke disappear, revealing a night sky as the Fire Extinguisher flies away. The player can press A Button as soon as its safety pin get pulled to increase the damage dealt.

The Fire Extinguisher is mandatory for Morton's battle at The Crimson Tower. After he sets his mallet on fire, Mario must use the Fire Extinguisher to destroy the head of the mallet. However, using a replica version of the Fire Extinguisher causes Morton to jump and slam the ground, ending the attack early. He remarks that it is too puny.

The Fire Extinguisher can also be placed into the Prisma Museum, where it can be tested.
