Stampede is a Challenge minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name is a pun on a word that refers to a herd of animals going somewhere or charging at someone to attack. For this minigame, the Wii Remote is held straight with the buttons facing the player.

Introduction[edit]

A Shy Guy is seen placing a small stack of blank paper on a podium, on the right of which is a stamper and on the left of which is a container to collect the stamped sheets of paper and a counter. The player steps up to the podium and picks up the stamper, and the game begins.

Gameplay[edit]

The player must push Wii Remote downward to stamp a blank sheet of paper with their emblem. Each blank sheet they stamp is worth a point. Occasionally, the player comes across a sheet of paper with Bowser's emblem on it randomly positioned among the other blank sheets of paper. The player must press the A Button or B Button button to move this sheet aside and keep stamping. If the player stamps a Bowser sheet, they lose two points. If the player is able to earn 20 points, they win. Since the time limit is only 20 seconds, the player must be extremely quick in order to stamp all the blank sheets of paper.

Ending[edit]

If the player wins, they will do their victory pose while the crowd cheers along with the Shy Guy. If the player loses, they will do their losing pose.

Controls[edit]

  • Wii Remote: Stamp
  • Buttons
    • A Button / B Button – Shove sheet aside

In-game text[edit]

  • Rules"Stamp your mark on 20 sheets of white paper to win! Avoid stamping the Bowser sheets!"
  • Hint"You'll lose 2 points if you stamp a Bowser page, so be careful!"
