Kid Icarus is one of 5-Volt's microgames in the Nintendo Classics level of the Mash League in WarioWare Gold. It is based on the Nintendo Entertainment System game of the same name, specifically the Palace in the Sky

Gameplay[edit]

The player controls Pit, who must defeat Medusa. Pit floats up and down on the left side of the screen, slowing down and reversing direction when near the floor and ceiling. Pressing A Button makes Pit shoot a Arrow of Light, which moves in a straight line. Unlike the original game, there is no limit on the number of arrows that can be onscreen. Medusa only takes damage when one of these arrows hits her in the eye, located in the center of the right side of the screen, and must be hit three times to be defeated. Medusa has the ability to attack in the 2nd level difficulty and the 3rd level difficulty. If Pit takes damage, he is defeated and the microgame is lost.

  • 1st level difficulty: Medusa does not attack Pit.
  • 2nd level difficulty: Medusa shoots a few beams at Pit. Beams move in a straight line can be destroyed by shooting an arrow at them. All beams stop and disappear once Medusa is defeated.
  • 3rd level difficulty: Medusa shoots a few beams and Thanatos at Pit. Thanatos drops down and bounces up and down in a zigzag pattern from the bottom of the screen, approaching Pit. It is possible for him to miss Pit and leave the screen off the right edge. Only one Thanatos can exist at a time. Thanatos can be defeated with an arrow.
