The players are visible during gameplay but not Bowser, who tries to remove them either with his [[Fire Breath|flame breath]] or by charging straight at them. The surrounding [[pit]] can also eliminate players. Any players remaining when time is up wins, though in Free Play mode of ''Mario Party Superstars'', it can be the last player standing instead.
The object of the minigame is to avoid Bowser and his [[Fire Breath|flame breath]] while not falling into the surrounding [[pit]]. Bowser may also quickly charge forward in a straight line, giving players that cannot see him less time to move out of the way. Though the players can see themselves and their opponents, they cannot see Bowser. If any players are remaining when the time runs out, they win.
