Crypto Zoo is one of the animal-themed microgames featured in Kat & Ana's stage in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase. It returns in WarioWare Gold as one of Orbulon's microgames. Its title references the field of cryptozoology.

Gameplay[edit]

There are three contiguous tiles showing portions of an animal, but not necessarily the same animal. Selecting a tile by tapping it or pressing A Button changes which animal is shown on each tile. The game is complete when the tiles are set to the same animal, such that it displays a real (though distorted) animal.

WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase[edit]

The animals are a giraffe, cat, bird, and a pig. When complete, the screen flashes and Wario laughs.

WarioWare Gold[edit]

Each tile rotates through the possible animals in the same order, even if the tiles start on different animals. When the game is complete, confetti falls and the animal makes a noise. Note that the game checks when the tile is toggled; visual confirmation that the tiles match is not required.

  • 1st level difficulty: Two of the tiles match from the start. The animals are an aardvark, a goldfish, and a pig.
  • 2nd level difficulty: None of the tiles match from the start. The animals are a cat, a camel, a chicken, and a sheep.
  • 3rd level difficulty: None of the tiles match from the start. The animals are a bird, a zebra, and a jaguar. There is also a carrot, which does not complete the microgame if formed.
