Archaeologuess is the Story minigame of Shy Guy in Mario Party 4. It can be played and unlocked only when Shy Guy's Jungle Jam is completed. The minigame's name is a pun on the word "archaeologist." It is a game of odd-one-out that takes place in an ancient chamber.

Gameplay[edit]

In the minigame, the player must determine which shape out of five has one difference from the other four. If a player guesses incorrectly, the shape will fall down and flatten their character. A correct guess sends the shape flying towards the Shy Guy picture in the back of the room. The player wins by getting three correct guesses before their opponent.

Controls[edit]

  • Control Stick – Move
  • A Button – Press the switch

In-game text[edit]

  • Shy Guy"One of the five spinning blocks will have a unique shape. Use Control Stick to move under the one block that doesn't match, and then press A Button to hit the switch. Pressing the switch lets you choose that block. You get a point if you're right, but you get crushed if you're wrong. If you can get three points before I do, then you win!"
