A Krash is a mine-cart driving Kritter. Krashs can be a real hassle, as they have no concern for their own safety. Krashs will attempt to run Donkey and Diddy off a mine cart track, time your jumps accurately so that they clear him and he ends up plowing onward to his own inevitable doom.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest an enemy similar to Krash, called Klank appears. The only major difference between a Krash and a Klank is that Klanks, instead of trying to ram the Kongs, throw barrels at them.

Krashs also appear in Donkey Kong 64 in the game's mine cart tracks. The Krashs in this game are much more muscular and now wield a club, which they try to smack a Kong with, if they do that Kong will lose coins. These Krashs can be defeated by causing them to smash into something such as a pile of rocks. Usually a Kong will have to pull a lever to drop something in a Krash's path.

*Though Krashes never make any direct appearance in the Donkey Kong Country animated series, some episodes have Kritters riding around on minecarts, effectively making a Krash in a sense.
**In some courses of Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Kritter can hop into a minecart, making him act like Krash.
*"Krash" was the original name for Krunch in Diddy Kong Racing.

* Interestingly the Donkey Kong 64 version of Krash is extremely similar in appearance to Klubba, a "sort-of" ally of the Kongs from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. Like Klubba, Krash is large, muscular, has a small head in proportion to the rest of it's body and weilds a large spiked club. These similarities led some to believe that Krash was Klubba.

This article's name is conjectural for a part of its content. If an official name is found for the currently unnamed portion of content, it may need to be split into a new article.

Krashes (also known as Cart Kritters)[1] are enemies introduced in Donkey Kong Country. They ride in uncontrollable Mine Carts. Krashes do not appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2, but they have a similar Roller Coaster-riding counterpart, Klanks.

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country[edit]

Krashes are enemies in Donkey Kong Country. In Mine Cart Carnage, Krashes ride a Mine Cart in the direction opposite of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Any contact with a Krash, including jumping onto it, damages the player characters while leaving the Krash unaffected. In Mine Cart Madness, Krashes sit idly at the start of a track railing, and the player characters can safely jump on a Krash to hijack its Mine Cart and continue riding on the tracks. Krashes have an identical appearance to Kritters, though the second remake changes them to a distinct light purple color.

Donkey Kong 64[edit]

Krashes are enemies in Donkey Kong 64. They appear in the Mine Cart Rides only, riding on a track next to the Kongs. Krashes now wield a club to further differentiate them from Kritters, and have a bulkier appearance similar to the Kritters from Donkey Kong Country. The Kongs can jump over the club to avoid taking damage, otherwise they lose three DK Coins. Krashes are defeated if they crash into a pile of rocks or fall into a pit. The active Kong usually has to pull a lever to defeat Krash either way.
