The Egyptian Koopa[1] is a boss in Mario Pinball Land. He is a large ancient Egyptian-themed Koopa Troopa who is located inside the pyramid in the Shifting Sands Stage and is capable of floating. The Egyptian Koopa first appears as a statue, but he comes to life when Mario reaches his room and presses the floor panel. He attacks Mario by using enchanted obelisks to make magic spheres appear; the spheres follow Mario, and when they touch him, they make him smaller and more likely to fall out of the area. However, if Mario hits the enchanted obelisks, he will become bigger. To attack the Egyptian Koopa, Mario has to run into the enchanted obelisks to make himself extra large and hit him while big. Yoshi Eggs can also be affected by the enchanted obelisks and magic spheres. Hitting the Egyptian Koopa grants 10,000 points each time, and doing so three times defeats him and grants 500,000 points. Once defeated, he shrinks away and leaves behind his headdress and canes, which disappear soon after, as well as four Yellow Coins, four Blue Coins, and a Star Key.
The Egyptian Koopa reappears and is fought again after all the Pokeys are defeated in his rematch room in the Fiery Stage. During this fight, the magic spheres from the enchanted obelisks are created much more quickly. After the Egyptian Koopa is defeated again, the player earns 1,000,000 points and can obtain a Star.
The Egyptian Koopa returns on Level 2 of the Mario Pinball Land microgame in WarioWare: Move It!
