- —Twink, Paper Mario
Twink is a Star Kid in Paper Mario. He is a star that helps Princess Peach in her time of need when she gets kidnapped by Bowser. He frequently gives Mario and his partners information about the locations of the Star Spirits, who are being held captive. He was born in Starborn Valley, and ascended to Star Haven immediately after Bowser stole the Star Rod.
Twink made his first appearance when Princess Peach is captured and wishes for help. Due to his young age, he is not able to grant any big wishes. However, he can assist Princess Peach in eavesdropping around her castle.
After Mario and Goombario go to Shooting Star Summit, Peach asks Twink to carry the Lucky Star that she found to Mario. She also tells Twink to tell Mario that she is fine. When Mario heads back to Toad Town, Twink knocks into him. After that, he gives Mario the Lucky Star, and tells Mario that Princess Peach is fine. He also asks him if he wants an Action Command lesson.
After Chapter 1 is completed, Twink and the princess manage to find Bowser's diary, which reveals the second Star Spirit's location. Princess Peach asks Twink if he can tell Mario about it, and Twink agrees. When Mario returns to Toad Town, Twink tells him about Mamar's location. When Chapter 2 is completed, Twink is hiding behind a wall and hears Bowser talking to Princess Peach. He hears Bowser talking about the "Invincible" Tubba Blubba, and suggests searching for more information. They sneak out and hear that Tubba Blubba has a weak point in the library of Peach's Castle. However, Tubba Blubba was already defeated by Mario before Twink figures out what the weak point is.
After Chapter 3, Twink learns from Bowser that Mario's next destination is Shy Guy's Toy Box. After that, he informs Mario about the area. He later helps Princess Peach when she is going to cook something for Gourmet Guy in Chapter 4. After reaching the castle's kitchen, Twink picks a cookbook from a bookshelf in the kitchen, and suggests cooking the "Special Strawberry Cake". After that, he reads the instructions for Peach. Gourmet Guy enjoys the cake and tells Peach about the fifth Star Spirit's location. Gourmet Guy recommends that Twink should pass the information to Mario. After that, he helps Princess Peach in passing the information to Mario.
Twink later appears after Chapter 5, when Princess Peach is discovered by Mr. Hammer. He becomes frightened and hides behind a vase. He later follows Princess Peach when she participates in the 64th Trivia Quiz-Off. After Chapter 6, Twink suggests that Princess Peach use the Sneaky Parasol she got from Mr. Hammer to wander around the castle, and he follows her as she proceeds. When the Koopatrols tie up Peach, Twink attacks the Koopatrols, but he gets knocked out of the castle instead.
During the fight with Bowser, Twink takes on Kammy Koopa. When Twink is fighting her, he can only use Dash, (Attack 0) while Peach can increase his Attack and Defense Power with her wishes (expressed as Focus). Once Kammy Koopa is defeated, Mario is given the upgraded version of the Star Beam, the Peach Beam. Later, Twink assists the other Star Spirits, allowing Mario to defeat Bowser.
At the end of the game, Twink bids farewell to the princess, telling her he is going to make the wishes of other people come true. During this sequence, he seems to want to tell Princess Peach something further, but he stops himself and rises up to Star Haven.
The Star Kids that are still in Starborn Valley suggest that Twink has had somewhat of a big brother relationship with them, and they looked after him when he still lived there.
